Women's Tennis Returns for Spring with 6-1 Loss at MIT

Sophomore Alina Kupfer (Baldham, Germany) was victorious at No. 1 singles, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team was handed a 6-1 loss by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in its spring opener Saturday at the DuPont Tennis Courts.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Kupfer rallied for a 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-3), 10-5 triumph over Katya Shepherd Johnson at No. 1 singles. Kupfer and freshman Dajana Abadzic (Weinstadt, Germany) were edged by Kimberly Liao and Jay Lu, 7-5, at No. 1 doubles.
NOTES
  • After winning eight straight, Southern New Hampshire has now dropped two-in-a-row.
