SNHU scored a season-high 20 runs to defeat the College of Staten Island 20-6 in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader in Myrtle Beach. The Dolphins rallied with three in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim the nightcap 4-3.

KEY MOMENTS – GAME 1 (SNHU 20-6)
- The Dolphins struck for a couple of runs in the top of the first inning. Michael Kehoe singled to start the inning and moved to second on a bunt. A.J. Vigliotti singled to make it 1-0. A single by Chris Polemeni followed for another run for Staten Island.
- The Penmen rallied for a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by sophomore Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) and a two-run single by Wachter.
- SNHU scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning. The frame started with back-to-back homers by Burgos and Wachter. Wouters walked with the bases loaded, sophomore Kyle Lavigne (Bedford, N.H.) drove in a run with a single, sophomore Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) had a sacrifice fly, and Burgos added a two-run double to make it 10-3.
- After the Dolphins put two on the board in the top of the fourth, the Penmen made it 11-5 on a sacrifice fly by Vargas Segura.
- The Penmen would score five times in the home sixth inning which included a two-run homer by Vargas Segura, an RBI double by Pisano, and a two-run single by freshman Evan Kaplo (Bedford, N.H.) to put SNHU up 16-6.
- Lavigne added an RBI ground out in the bottom of the seventh.
- Freshman Cam Olivo (Swanzey, N.H.) launched a two-run homer and Wouters had an RBI single in the eighth to make it 20-6.
KEY MOMENTS – GAME 2 (CSI 4-3)
- The Penmen took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Burgos tripled to center field and scored on a wild pitch.
- SNHU tacked on two more runs in the top of the third inning. Burgos walked with the bases loaded and Vargas Segura scored on a wild pitch.
- Lendrum had allowed no runs on one hit through the first five innings before the Dolphins cut into the deficit.
- Staten Island scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 3-1 and then made it 3-2 on Matthew Polemeni's home run leading off the seventh.
- Vincent Weigele followed with a single to end the night for Lendrum. Two more singles off reliever senior Parker Hansen (Granby, Conn.) tied the game, and a wild pitch by sophomore Ben Hladun (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) ended the game.
NOTES
- Eight different players drove in at least two runs in the opener, including Burgos, who homered and doubled, driving in three runs in the seven-run third inning.
- These were the first career pitching starts for freshman Jack Davis (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) in the opener (3.2 IP – 5 ER), and Lendrum, in the nightcap.
- Oliva's home run came in his first at-bat in a Penmen uniform.
- Graduate student Jamie Roldan (Boston, Mass.) played for the first time in the opener, drawing a pair of walks.
- After recording 14 hits, including four homers in the opener, the Penmen had only two hits in the nightcap- an infield single by Vargas Segura to start the game, and a triple by Burgos in the second inning.
- These were the first baseball games played between SNHU and the College of Staten Island.
