Junior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) was victorious at No. 3 singles, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to Adelphi University on Saturday afternoon at the Point Set Recquet Club.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Adelphi had the match wrapped up when Nadeau downed Casey Recci, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 3 singles.
- Sophomore Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany) also captured his singles match, taking care of Reece Farrow, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.
- Junior Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) and graduate student Aron Ouwejan (Wervershoof, Netherlands) began doubles play by doubling up Thiago Negrao and Viktor Hockl, 6-3, at No. 3.
NOTES
- Roeder and fellow sophomore Melvin Vix (Thionville, France) dropped the deciding doubles match at No. 2, 7-6 (7-5) to Hugo Munoz Reinoso and Farrow.
- Southern New Hampshire had won eight of its last 10, including three straight, entering the day.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with the Panthers, 11-6. The Penmen have won eight of the last 11 meetings, though Adelphi has now won three of the last four, including both regular-season meetings this year. The Panthers downed the Penmen, 5-2, at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts back on Sept. 22.
