HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern New Hampshire exploded for nine runs in the top of the first, as it sent 13 batters to the plate. The first four batters reached, including RBI singles from Wouters and Pisano, before a Burgos RBI groundout to short was recorded as the first out of the inning. A two-out RBI single from Valera made it, 4-0, with Vargas Segura following with his second hit of the inning – a grand slam that doubled the Penmen advantage to 8-0. A run-scoring triple by Wachter would cap the scoring as the third consecutive two-out hit.
- After the Penmen scored two more in the third, three straight bases-loaded walks to Wouters, Wachter and Pisano stretched the lead to 15-0.
- A two-out, two-run double to center off the bat of Daniel Scolaro would put Saint Anselm on the board and trim the deficit to 15-2.
- A Burgos solo home run in the seventh made it 16-2.
- Wachter's two-out, RBI base hit in the eighth capped the scoring.
