  • Freshman Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) – 3-for-5, 2 RBI, 3 R, SB

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Southern New Hampshire would move out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, with an RBI single to center from sophomore Jake Risedorf (Barkhamsted, Conn.) bringing in the first run.
  • Roldan made it 3-0 in the second with a sacrifice fly to left.
  • The Penmen then exploded for seven in the third, as they sent 12 men to the plate. A hit batter and walk with the bases packed plated the first two runs, before a two-run single from Watcher, an RBI single off the bat of Wouters and an RBI double by Roldan did the bulk of the damage in running the score to 10-0.
  • Bentley finally pushed one across in the fourth against Brassill, but a two-run homer from Wouters in the sixth stretched the Penmen lead to 12-1.
  • The Falcons scored one in the sixth and two in the seventh to make it a 12-4 game.
  • Burgos hit a solo shot to right in the eighth to nudge the SNHU advantage to 13-4.
  • Bentley plated another in the eighth and struck three times in the ninth to tight things up a bit.
INSIDE THE BOX
  • Risedorf (RBI, run, walk) and senior Anderson Moreno (Bronx, N.Y.; two runs, stolen base) were both 1-for-5.
  • Sophomore Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) finished 0-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
  • Freshman Joel Valera (Boston, Mass.) was also 0-for-4 with an RBI, a walk and a steal.
  • Senior Parker Hansen (Granby, Conn.) allowed one run on two hits in an inning of work.
  • Sophomore Ben Hladun (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) was charged with three runs on a hit and a walk, and did not record an out.
  • Graduate student Zachary Gitschier (Lowell, Mass.) struck out one and walked one, while allowing a hit, in a scoreless frame, though he did allow all three inherited runners to score.
