- Southern New Hampshire had a man advantage after the Owls took a red card in the 17th minute of the first half.
- The Penmen had several scoring chances just before the game-winning goal. Graduate student Dani Gonzalez (Llanera, Spain) hit the right post with one shot.
- Fuentes saw his header tipped off the crossbar but bounced back to Herrmann who scored the goal.
