Sophomore Dajana Abadzic (Weinstadt, Germany) recorded a pair of victories to help lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team to a 5-2 triumph over the College of Holy Cross on Sunday at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Abadzic posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles against Caroline Carlson and also combined with graduate student Zuzanna Krygier (Poznan, Poland) for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles versus Alison Lynn and Ashley Zilora.
- Krygier was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Caroline Fredey at No. 4 singles.
- Freshman Lois Tsui (Amsterdam, Netherlands) would clinch the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win against Zilora at No. 3 singles. She and sophomore Justina Haver (Taipei, Taiwan) outlasted Carlson and Ahana Nagarkatting, 7-6 (9-7), at No. 2 doubles.
- Sophomore Nadya Lyekontseva (Kyiv, Ukraine) pulled out a 7-6, 6-7, 10-8 victory at No. 5 singles against Maddie Hamm. Lyekontseva and senior Katelyn Nichols (Manchester, N.H.) teamed for a 6-4 win over Fredey and Hamm at No. 3 doubles that clinched the point.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire is 2-0 for the first time since 2022-23, but the fifth time in the last six years.
- The Penmen lead the all-time series with Holy Cross, 3-0, as the two teams met for the first time since Feb. 16, 2014.

- The Penmen return to action Tuesday (Sept. 10) at 3 p.m. when they take on Franklin Pierce University.
