Junior Nadya Lyekontseva (Kyiv, Ukraine) provided the lone point for the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team on Thursday afternoon, as the Penmen dropped a 6-1 decision to Assumption at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.

KEY MOMENT
  • With the Greyhounds already ahead after taking two of three doubles matches, Assumption pulled away by capturing five of six singles contests. Lyekontseva kept SNHU from being shut out, rolling to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles against Estefania De Oliveira Viloria.
NOTES
  • Lyekontseva improved to 3-0 in singles play this season and delivered her second straight-set victory.
  • The Penmen's lone doubles win came at No. 3, where Eyglo Armannsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) and Lucia Dusseljee (Helmond, Netherlands) outlasted Danielle de Souza and Marie Knispel, 7-5.
  • The Penmen hold an 18-7 advantage in the all-time series with the Greyhounds, but Assumption has won the last two.
  • The Greyhounds won at Southern New Hampshire for the first time since 2004, snapping a 10-game losing streak.
