Sophomore Ryan Kayser (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored the game-winner just 38 seconds into overtime to lift the Penmen to their third straight win over the Rams.

KEY MOMENT

With the game tied 3-3 entering overtime, Kayser buried a long feed from senior Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ontario) out of the Penmen zone. Kayser also assisted on two other SNHU goals on opening night.

  • Watson converted a steal into a goal for a 3-2 lead at 10:46 of the third period, but Brent Scott tied the game with an unassisted goal for the Rams just over a minute later.
  • Lynch and junior Ryan Pomposelli (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) each picked up assists.
