Senior Kurt Watson (London, Ont.) scored early in the second period, and junior Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) made 30 saves, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's ice hockey team skated to a 1-1 overtime tie with Saint Anselm College on Friday night in Northeast 10 Conference action at The Ice Den.
 
KEY MOMENT

Watson opened the scoring 4:56 into the second period, finishing a setup from freshman Gavin Simon (Monticello, Minn.) to give the Penmen a 1-0 lead. The Hawks answered just over six minutes later when Patrick DeMarinis tied it at 1-1. Neither side broke through the rest of the way despite several late chances, including a post hit by sophomore Ryan Kayser (Allentown, Pa.) during a power play in overtime.

NOTES
  • Watson's tally was his second of the season.
  • Simon earned his first collegiate assist on the goal.
  • Berke finished with 30 saves, while Saint Anselm's Cam Carroll turned aside 33 shots.
  • SNHU outshot the Hawks 34–31 and won 48 percent (36–39) of faceoffs.
