Ugo Nwachukwu (Imo State, Nigeria) added 18, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team rode a red-hot first half to a 74-69 non-conference win over the University of Bridgeport on Tuesday night at the Stan Spirou Field House.
KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU erupted for 49 first-half points, shooting 18-for-35 from the floor and 9-for-16 from three to build a double-digit cushion before halftime. Wallace fueled the surge with 17 points before the break, including a trio of early triples that pushed the Penmen ahead. Nwachukwu added 11 first-half points, including a pair of threes, and junior Levi Lawal (Laurel, Md.) provided a spark off the bench with nine points before intermission.
- Bridgeport made a late push, trimming the deficit to five in the closing minutes, but the Penmen hit enough free throws (17-of-21 in the second half) to secure the victory.
