Stephanie Davis (Windham, N.H.) scored 16 points, including 14 in the second half, to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team to a 68-62 victory over Assumption University on Tuesday evening at the Stan Spirou Field House.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed by six with less than three minutes to go in the opening quarter when it ended the frame on an 8-2 run that left the game tied at 14-all.
- Neither team led by more than two in a second quarter that featured eight lead changes and three ties. Assumption brought a 30-29 advantage to the break.
- SNHU used a 10-2 run – with the first four coming from Davis – to open a 41-34 lead more than four minutes into the third quarter. The Penmen nudged the margin to nine at 50-41 at the end of three.
- A deep 3-pointer from Brennan less than 30 seconds into the final frame gave SNHU its largest lead of the contest at 53-43. A 9-2 run from the Greyhounds trimmed their deficit to 57-54 with less than four minutes remaining. The Penmen answered with a 7-2 counter-run – sparked by a three-point play from DeVries – to go up 64-56 with under a minute on the clock. The visitors again would climb within three with 28 seconds to go, but SNHU hit three of four free throws down the stretch to seal it.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore Madison Hughes (Columbia, Conn.) posted five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3-FG) and six rebounds.
- Junior Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) notched four points (2-7 FG) and six rebounds.
- Sophomore Ava Winterburn (New Boston, N.H.) registered four points (2-6 FG) and three rebounds.
- Freshman Samantha Pfeil (Methuen, Mass.) added four points (2-4 FG).
- Southern New Hampshire outshot Assumption, 49.1 percent (28-57) to 33.3 percent (22-66), including 22.2 percent (2-9) to 14.3 percent (3-21) from 3-point range. The Greyhounds were plus-5 from the line and shot it better, 83.3 percent (15-18) to 58.8 percent (10-17).
- The Penmen scored more points on the fast break (13-10) and received more scoring from their bench (20-12), while the Greyhounds won the glass (40-38), scored more second chance points (16-2) and featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (11/11-9/13). Points in the paint (36-36) and points off turnovers (12-12) were even.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire has won three of five, including two straight.
- Assumption leads the all-time series with SNHU, 38-23, despite the Penmen having won five of the last eight, including two of three at home. SNHU sweeps the regular-season series, following a 59-54 road win back on Jan. 8.
- SNHU improves to 71-37 (.657) since the 2021-22 season started, including 35-17 (.673) at the Field House.
