Female Athlete of the Week: Jordan Wheaton - Women's Track & Field - So.
Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) hurdled her way into the record book at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Gordon Kelly Invitational, finishing as the second qualifier with a program-record time of 9.35 seconds in her prelims in the 60-meter hurdles. She would win the final at 9.18 seconds. Wheaton also ran the 60H at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, turning in a 9.53m effort.
Male Athlete of the Week: Kurtis Henderson - Men's Basketball - Sr., G
Kurtis Henderson (Brockton, Mass.) averaged 17.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists, while knocking down 42.3 percent (11-26) of his shots from the field, including 57.1 percent (4-7) from long distance, and 80 percent (8-10) from the stripe, in a 2-0 week for men's basketball. Henderson poured in a career-high 28 points (9-22 FG, 4-6 3-FG, 6-7 FT), including the 1,000th of his career, grabbed three rebounds and dished three assists in an 83-82, double-overtime triumph over Assumption University on Tuesday. He followed that up with six points (2-4 FG, 2-3 FT) and three assists in only 22 minutes of a 71-67 win at American International College on Saturday.

- Men's ice hockey went 0-2-0 last week with a pair of 4-2 home losses to the NE10 Regular Season Champions, Saint Anselm College, on Friday and Saturday. The Penmen earned the No. 3 seed for the upcoming NE10 Championships and will host sixth-seeded Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday.
- Sophomore Stone Devlin (W. Falmouth, Mass.) notched a goal and an assist, collecting a helper Friday, before finding the back of the net Saturday.
- Sophomore Anthony Marchant (Norwood, Mass.) handed out a helper in each game.
- Senior Jack Gray (Lowell, Mass.) and junior Tyler Murray (Barre, Vt.) each recorded goals Friday.
- Junior Ryan Pomposelli (Needham, Mass.) lit the lamp Saturday.
- Sophomore Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) made 29 saves Friday.
- Sophomore Sean Guerin (Chicago, Ill.) turned aside 37 shots Saturday.

- Women's basketball went 1-1 last week, picking up a huge win against Assumption University on Tuesday, 68-62. The Penmen then were handed an 88-76 road loss by American International College on Saturday.
- Graduate student Stephanie Davis (Windham, N.H.) scored 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-5 FT), including 14 in the second half, to go along with five rebounds and two assists, against Assumption.
- Senior Sydnie DeVries (Monson, Mass.) posted 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-5 FT) and five rebounds against the Greyhounds.
- Junior Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) recorded 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds and three assists at American Int'l.
- Sophomore Ava Winterburn (New Boston, N.H.) notched a career-high 17 points (5-11 FG, 5-10 3-FG, 2-3 FT), grabbed five boards and dished a pair of assists versus AIC.
- Freshman Samantha Pfeil (Methuen, Mass.) added a career-high 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3-FG, 2-3 FT) against the Yellow Jackets.

- Men's basketball went 2-0, with a thrilling, 83-82 double-overtime victory against Assumption University on Tuesday, before holding off American International College, 71-67, Saturday.
- Senior Kurtis Henderson (Brockton, Mass.) poured in a career-high 28 points (9-22 FG, 4-6 3-FG, 6-7 FT) to reach 1,000 for his career, while adding three rebounds and three assists against Assumption.
- Senior Jordan Brathwaite (Silver Spring, Md.) posted a season-high 16 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 3-FG, 1-1 FT), season-high 10 rebounds and career-high five blocks versus the Greyounds.
- Junior Royce Williams (Manchester, N.H.) added 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, and three steals against Assumption.
- Senior Paul Greene (Freeport, Bahamas) led the way against American Int'l with 16 points (8-17 FG), 12 rebounds and three assists.
- Senior Jhamyl Fricas (Lawrence, Mass.) supported Greene's effort versus the Yellow Jackets with 13 points (4-9 FG, 3-5 3-FG, 2-3 FT), five rebounds and two steals.

- Women's indoor track & field again split its squad Saturday, sending a group to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University and another to Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Gordon Kelly Invitational.
- Sophomore Jordan Wheaton (Hooksett, N.H.) hurdled her way into the record book at MIT, finishing as the second qualifier with a program-record time of 9.35 seconds in her prelims in the 60-meter hurdles. She would win the final at 9.18 seconds. Wheaton also ran the 60H at Boston University, turning in a 9.53m effort.
- Graduate student Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) again broke her own school record in the weight throw, finishing third overall at MIT with a toss of 15.97m.
- Freshman Hope Hanafin (Burlington, Mass.) won the 400m at MIT in a time of 1:03.23.Â

- Men's lacrosse split its first two games of the season, toppling Felician University, 15-5, out of the gate Monday, before suffering a 17-2 loss at Molloy University on Saturday.
- Redshirt freshman Joey Gallo (Derry, N.H.) recorded four goals and four assists, including four goals and three assists in the season-opening victory.
- Sophomore Sean Dwyer (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) found the back of the net four times versus Felician.
- Sophomore Ryan Lynch (Derry, N.H.) tallied two goals and three assists, with a goal and three helpers coming against the Golden Falcons.
- Senior Patrick Cassidy (No. Chelmsford, Mass.) stopped 26 of the 42 shots he saw in the two contests. Cassidy turned away nine of 13 bids in 55:23 of action against Felician and then made 17 saves on 29 shots in 45:00 at Molloy.
- Junior John Batchelor (Longmeadow, Mass.) stopped two of three bids over the final 4:37 of the win.
- Sophomore Matt Roy (North Andover, Mass.) collected three saves on 11 shots in the final quarter versus the Lions.

Field Hockey (16-4, 12-1 NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey enjoyed its best season in five years, winning 10 straight matches at one point and climbing as high in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Coaches Poll it ever has at No. 4.
- The Penmen earned the No. 2 seed in the NE10 Championship and were toppled in the semifinals by the eventual NCAA National Champions, Saint Anselm College. SNHU claimed its second NCAA Championship berth as the No. 5 seed and fell to the NCAA National Championship finalist, Kutztown University, 2-1 in double-overtime.
- Senior Annemartine Christis (s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) was named the NE10 Player of the Year, junior Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) was chosen NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year, and Julie Munson was selected as the NE10 Coach of the Year. Christis set new single-season program records in goals (30), assists (14) and points (74), as she led the country in goals and points, while ranking second in assists. Peeters played every second in net, recording 10 shutouts, while stopping 102 of 121 shots for a 0.92 goals-against average (GAA) and a nation-leading .843 save percentage.
- Christis and Peeters were joined on the NE10 All-Conference First Team by junior Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands). Senior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) and sophomore Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeck, Netherlands) were Second Team picks, sophomore Jade Hendriks (Huissen, Netherlands) was a Third Teamer and freshman Natalie Paradzick (Hooksett, N.H.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Women's Soccer (10-2-6, 5-1-4Â NE10)
Notes:
- Women's soccer, which was ranked as high as 10th in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll during the season, began the year with 13 consecutive matches without a loss (9-0-4), tied for the third longest streak in program history.
- The team claimed the No. 3 seed for the NE10 Championship, but was upset in penalty kicks by Saint Anselm College. The Penmen did enough to collect their seventh straight berth to the NCAA Championship and 10th, overall, as they earned the No. 3 seed in the East Region. SNHU rallied for a first round victory over Molloy University, 2-1, but had its season draw to an end with a second round loss against Franklin Pierce University (2-0).
- Junior Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.) became the first Penmen to be named the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year after rankings second in the conference in shutouts (11) and goals-against average (0.55), and third in both saves (62) and save percentage (.861). She also was recognized with a spot on the D2CCA East All-Region Second Team.
- Keith was joined on the NE10 All-Conference First Team by graduate students Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) and Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.). Anderson, a D2CCA East All-Region First Teamer, led the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists, while Michael was a three-time NE10 Defensive Player of the Week.Â
- Senior Lauren Conti (Schenectady, N.Y.) and graduate student Agata Giani (Milan, Italy) collected NE10 Second Team honors, while graduate student Ava Jakich-Kunze (Moscow, Idaho), and juniors Imogen Noon (Gold Coast, Australia) and Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) were all named to the Third Team. Freshman Sam Torres (Schenectady, N.Y.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Men's Soccer (14-2-3, 7-0-2Â NE10)
Notes:
- Men's soccer put together its best campaign in nearly a decade, as the 14 victories were the most since the 2015 team won 19 matches. The Penmen climbed as high as No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll.
- The team went unbeaten in NE10 play to capture the regular season crown, before also collecting its eighth NE10 tournament title. The Penmen garnered the No. 2 seed in Super Region 1, as well as a bye in the first round, when it secured its 24th NCAA Championship bid. They played to a 1-1 draw with seventh-seeded Post University in their second round matchup, but suffered a 7-6 loss in a penalty kick shootout.
- SNHU placed an impressive six on the D2CCA East All-Region First Team, including NE10 Player of the Year Iago Perez (A Coruña, Spain), NE10 Defensive Player of the Year Liam Evans (Rock Hill, N.Y.), NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) and NE10 Rookie of the Year Gabriel Castro (León, Spain). Fellow NE10 All-Conference First Team selections Martin Zapata (Pamplona, Spain) and Haroun Conteh (Glendale, Ariz.) also received the honor.
- Head coach Josh Taylor also earned his first NE10 Coach of the Year accolade, as the Penmen became the first team to ever sweep all five NE10 major awards. Senior Philipp Herrmann (Bruckmuehl, Germany) was the seventh member of the squad to find a place on the NE10 First Team.
- Sophomore Alex Pons (Castellón, Spain) received a Second Team nod, while graduate student Martin Fuentes (Pamplona, Spain) and junior Alejo Caceres (Córdoba, Argentina) were recognized with Third Team selections.
Women's Volleyball (9-17, 4-6 NE10)
Notes:
- Women's volleyball won three of four at one point, and four of six down the stretch, to earn the No. 6 seed in the NE10 Championship. The Penmen saw their season end with a 3-1 loss at the third-seeded University of New Haven.
- Senior Julia Cavalcanti (Vineyard, Utah) was chosen for the NE10 All-Conference Third Team after ranking fifth in the league in service aces (42) and 12th in hitting percentage (.267). Freshman Addie Garn (Gilbert, Ariz.) earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team, as she placed seventh in the conference in aces per set (0.47) and ninth in assists per set (5.82).
Cross Country
Notes:
- Women's cross country finished as the runner-up at the NE10 Championships and placed ninth at the NCAA East Regional Championships. While the team did not qualify for nationals, junior Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) did, as her time for the 6k was 22:05.6, a new PR, and good for third place. She and freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) earned USTFCCCA East All-Region status. Obernesser completed the 6k at the NCAA National Championships in Sacramento, Calif. in 23:56.9, finishing 229th at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course.
- Obernesser earned NE10 All-Conference First Team honors, while McInerney was a Second Team selection and was joined by sophomore Deirdre Bailat (North Billerica, Mass.). Freshman Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) collected Third-Team All-Conference honors.
- Men's cross country finished sixth at both the NE10 and NCAA East Regional Championships. Junior Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) also qualified, individually, for nationals, as he finished fourth at regionals, running a personal best for the 10k in a time of 31:30.5. He and sophomore Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) earned USTFCCCA All-Region recognition. Labonte finished 227th in the 10k race at nationals in 33:31.8. Following the race, Labonte was awarded the prestigious NCAA Elite 90 Award, which goes to the athlete with the highest grade-point average (GPA) at each of the NCAA's 90 Championships.
- Labonte was also an NE10 First Team choice, while Sekaya was a Third Teamer.
