 KEY MOMENTS
  • Southern New Hampshire fell behind, 9-4, in the opening two-and-a-half minutes, but later responded with a 10-2 charge – buoyed by 3-pointers from senior Jordan Brathwaite (Silver Spring, Md.) and Harris – to open a 23-16 advantage just past the midway point of the half. Adelphi hit back with its own 10-2 rush to go back on top, 29-28, with 5:13 left. Four lead changes and a tie followed, before five straight from Fricas powered a 7-0 run that put SNHU in front, 40-34, with 1:15 on the clock. Adelphi would trim its halftime deficit to 40-38.
  • A 9-2 run in the first four minutes of the second half flipped Adelphi back into the lead at 49-46 with 16:10 remaining. It was a two-point game when eight straight, including four from Greene, opened up a 61-55 advantage for SNHU with 9:14 on the clock. The margin was five with less than five minutes to go when the Panthers ripped of an 8-2 to go up, 72-71, with 1:26 to play. Choate made a driving layup with 1:11 on the clock and then, following an Adelphi miss, sank two free throws to make it a three-point game. The Panthers fired up a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it did not fall.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Senior Kurtis Henderson (Brockton, Mass.) recorded six points (2-10 FG, 2-2 FT) and and five assists.
  • Brathwaite posted three points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3-FG) and three boards.

  • Adelphi outshot Southern New Hampshire, 50 percent (24-48) to 48.3 percent (28-58), including 58.8 percent (10-17) to 36 percent (9-25) from beyond the arc. Adelphi plus-four from the stripe, though SNHU shot it better, 83.3 percent (10-12) to 73.7 percent (14-19).

NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire has won eight of its last 10, including five of six and four straight. SNHU moves into a tie for fourth-place in the NE10 standings and clinches a bye in the first round of the NE10 Championship. The Penmen can finish anywhere from second to fifth and would be home for the quarterfinals March 2 if they slot in second, third or fourth. A win in the regular-season finale Tuesday against Bentley University, coupled with a Pace University victory over Assumption University, would move SNHU to No. 3. A win, combined with an Assumption triumph would trigger a four-way tie for the No. 2 seed, with the Penmen owning the tiebreaker. A loss and an Assumption loss keeps SNHU at No. 4, while a loss and Assumption win drops the Penmen to No. 5.
  • Adelphi, ranked 15th in both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Coaches Poll and the Division II College Sport Communicators (D2CSC) Media Poll, has its seven-game winning streak snapped.
  • Perri, who recorded his 100th victory at SNHU in a win over Assumption University back on Feb. 11, wins the 200th game of his head coaching career in his 12th overall season.
  • SNHU, which leads the all-time series with Adelphi 17-11, has won seven of 12, including five of seven. The teams have split the most recent 18 meetings, with the Penmen having won seven of the last eight, including four straight, on their home court.
  • Greene's double-double is his 17th of the season, as well as his ninth in the last 13 games and fifth in the last six.
  • Choate's 20 points is double his previous career high of 10, which he scored Feb. 5 and Feb. 19.
  • SNHU improves to 57-22 (.722) at home over the last six seasons, including 10-3 this year.
  • Choate, Greene, Harris, Fricas, Henderson, Brathwaite, Grant, and seniors Kyle Rocker (Lawrence, Mass.) and Luke Bramanti (Chelmsford, Mass.) were honored in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the contest.
