Lynch Has Big Night with Goal, Three Assists

First linemates Junior Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ont.), junior Kurt Watson (London, Ont.), and junior Ryan Pomposelli (Needham, Mass.) each scored a goal  as Southern New Hampshire University Ice Hockey defeated Franklin Pierce University 4-2 on Friday afternoon in Winchendon, Mass.  Sophomore goalie Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) made 23 saves.

 KEY MOMENTS
  • Franklin Pierce scored two goals in a little over four minutes of the first period to take the early lead.
  • Pomposelli put the Penmen on the board at 4:16 of the second period with a slapshot from just inside the Raven blue line.
  • Watson tied the game at 13:35 on the back hand to make it 2-2.
  • SNHU's top line added a third goal, the game-winner, at 35 seconds of the final period.  Pomposelli took a shot and Watson passed the rebound out to Lynch for the goal.
  • Muthersbaugh picked up his first goal of the season with an empty net at 18:58, assisted by Lynch to make it 4-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Penmen had a 29-25 shot advantage.
  • SNHU went 0-for-1 on the power-play while Franklin Pierce was 0-for-3.
NOTES
  • The Penmen improve to 3-0 against Franklin Pierce in 2024-25 and lead the all-time series 41-18-7.   SNHU has won five straight against the Ravens.
  • Watson leads the Penmen with eight goals, and he has accumulated 21 goals in his SNHU career.
  • Lynch leads the team in scoring with six goals and 18 assists.  The 18 helpers are second most in the Northeast-10 Conference.
  • Berke lowered his season goals against average to 2.11 (tops in the NE10) and improved to 11-5-1 on the season.
