Jake Risedorf (Barkhamsted, Conn.) struck out 12 while going the distance in a 2-0 win at Assumption University on Saturday. Risedorf also had an RBI double as SNHU baseball won its fourth straight game.

KEY MOMENTS
- Both runs for the Penmen scored in the top of the fourth inning.
- Sophomore Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) walked, and Risedorf's two-out double to right field gave the Penmen the lead.
- Valera followed with a single to plate Risedorf.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Playing in wet, cold conditions, the teams combined for only 11 hits.
- Assumption did have opportunities, leaving nine on base. A single and a walk with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Assumption a chance to tie or take the lead, but Risedorf was able to notch a strikeout of Owen Podolec to end the frame.
- Risedorf also faced the tying run with two outs in the ninth inning, but Max Lefrancois flied out to end the game.
- Assumption starter Evan Remington worked the first five innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, three walks, and seven strikeouts.
- Reliever Alexander Meesig did not allow a run in relief for the Greyhounds, recording seven strikeouts in his four innings.
NOTES
- The Penmen dropped out of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 rankings last week and are receiving votes in the latest poll.
- Risedorf went nine innings in a start for the first time in his career, although he threw 10.2 innings of scoreless relief on March 14 at East Stroudsburg. 12 strikeouts were a career-best.
- Risedorf ranks third on the team in slugging percentage (.514) with eight extra-base hits among his 21. Wachter, at .622, and freshman Jackson Marshall (Hooksett, N.H.) .568 are tops on the squad.
- Senior Jancarlos Colon (Santa Isabel, P.R.) has hits in 15 straight games, with a double to lead off the eighth inning. His team-leading average is .362.
- Baseball leads the all-time series with the Greyhounds 54-26-2, and the Penmen have won four of the last five.
UP NEXT
- SNHU and Assumption will meet again on Sunday starting at Noon. The first game of the scheduled doubleheader will be the final NE10 meeting between the division rivals in the regular season.
- SNHU will return home next Wednesday (April 2) to play Saint Anselm in the third game of the season series against the Hawks. This will start a stretch of ten consecutive home games at Penmen Field.
