Sophomore Carlos Molero (Barcelona, Spain) was again victorious in singles, play but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was beaten by the University of Hawaii at Hilo, 5-1, Monday at Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • No. 5 singles: Molero def. Yu Jhe Du, 6-1, 6-3
  • No. 1 doubles: senior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick)/sophomore Jaden Williams (Green Acres, Fla.) def. Austin Gentile/Jaime Paquet, 6-3
NOTES
  • Nadeau was in a third set with Filippo Di Perna at No. 1 singles when the match ended. Di Perna took the opening set, 6-1, before Nadeau rallied with a 7-6 (9-7) win in the second. Nadeau trailed, 1-0, in the third set.
  • The doubles point came down to the second flight, with Coby Pearce and Sergi Tintore edging sophomore Albert Modol (Lleida, Spain) and junior Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany), 7-5.
  • Southern New Hampshire has dropped four-in-a-row.
  • This was the second meeting between the two teams, after Hawaii Hilo posted a 5-2 win over the Penmen on Sunday.

  • The Penmen are back in action Saturday, March 29 (1 p.m.) when they play host to Assumption University at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
