Katelyn Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) each tallied three points, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team had its two-game winning streak halted in a 16-7 loss to 14th-ranked Kutztown University on Friday afternoon at Keystone Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kutztown jumped out to a 4-1 advantage in the opening 6:48, before Pietz and McLaughlin struck 46 seconds apart to pull Southern New Hampshire within 4-3 with 2:32 left in the first quarter. The hosts would score three more times over the final 1:43, however, to bring a 7-3 advantage to the second quarter.
- The Golden Bears increased their lead to 10-4 just two-and-a-half minutes into the second stanza, but McLaughlin would again find the back of the net and set up a goal from sophomore Mazie Burt (Waterford, Vt.) to trim the SNHU halftime deficit to 10-4.
- Kutztown would score six straight, including all three goals in the third quarter, to go up 10 at 16-6 with 2:28 on the clock. Pietz added her second goal of the game with 36 seconds remaining to cap the scoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Mirra (Cicero, N.Y.) made three saves on 13 shots over the opening 17:30, before Cole stopped 10 of 16 in the final 42:30.
- Kutztown 'keeper Matisa Bragg made nine saves.
- Sophomore Natalie Bosselman (E. Falmouth, Mass.) also scored for the Penmen.
- Senior Brooke Deily (Doylestown, Pa.) led the Penmen with three caused turnovers, while classmate Teagan McInnis (Bedford, N.H.) won five draw controls.
- Kutztown outshot SNHU, 41-19, including 18-6 in the second half.
- The Penmen owned advantages in draw controls (14-12) and ground balls (25-22).
- SNHU went 15-for-24 on clear attempts, while Kutztown was 17-for-22.
- The Bears were also 1-for-2 on their free-position attempts, while the Penmen came up empty on their three tries.
- SNHU had 26 of the game's 43 turnovers.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire's 2-2 to start is its best through three games since the 2023 season.
