Katelyn Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) each scored three times and teamed up to produce a three-goal rally late that led the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team to a 9-8 victory Sunday afternoon at Ravenhll Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hadden and Pietz scored the first two goals of the game to stake Southern New Hampshire to an early lead, but Jefferson would answer to tie the game, 2-2, at the end of the first quarter.
- Hadden opened up the second-stanza scoring just 45 seconds in, but the hosts scored two more times to exit the low-scoring first half with a 4-3 edge.
- SNHU kicked off the third quarter with a 3-1 run – powered by a pair of Hadden assists – to seize a 6-5 lead with 3:47 to go in the frame, but Jefferson tied it with 31 ticks left.
- The Rams scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to take an 8-6 advantage, before Pietz found the back of the net with 7:39 remaining to pull the Penmen within one. It looked like time may run out on the visitors, but Hadden set up Pietz for the hat trick to tie the game, 8-all, with 2:59 on the clock, then notched her own hat trick for the game winner just 44 seconds later.

- Jefferson 'keeper Matisa Bragg made 10 saves.
- Senior Rachel McLaughlin (Woburn, Mass.) also scored for the Penmen.
- Senior Brooke Deily (Doylestown, Pa.), classmate Teagan McInnis (Bedford, N.H.) and sophomore Eliana Anderson (Danvers, Mass.) each produced two caused turnovers in the defensive battle.
- SNHU narrowly outshot Jefferson, 24-22.
- The Penmen owned advantages in draw controls (10-9) and ground balls (21-15).
- SNHU went 18-for-20 on clear attempts, while Jeffetson was 19-for-20.
- The Rams were also 4-for-5 on their free-position attempts, while the Penmen came up empty on their two opportunities.
- SNHU had 17 of the game's 33 turnovers.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire's 3-2 to start is its best through five games since the 2023 season, when it began the year 4-1.
- SNHU improves to 2-0 all-time against Jefferson, as the teams met for the first time since 2009, back when the school was called Philadelpia University.
- Hadden registered the 200th point of her career in the contest with her first assist just three minutes into the second half. She now has 132 career goals and 71 assists, with 78 goals and 43 helpers coming as a member of the Penmen. She is the 10th student-athlete so tally her 200th career point in an SNHU uniform.
- Hadden leads the NE10 in points (32), ranks second in assists (13) and third in goals (19).
