Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) went 4-for-10, slugged two grand slams and knocked in 10 runs to lead the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team to a doubleheader sweep of Saint Michael's College on Friday at Doc Jacobs Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Southern New Hampshire led, 3-0, when a two-run double down the left field line by sophomore Joel Valera (Boston, Mass.) highlighted a four-run third that stretched the advantage to 7-0.
- Four more in the fourth – on a two-run single to center by Lavigne and a two-run triple to right by Colon – broke it open at 11-0.
- RBI singles from Lavigne and Valera in the fifth made it 13-0, before a Wachter grand slam underscored a five-run seventh that widened the gap to 18-0.
- The Penmen made it 20-0 in the ninth before Divita took a no-hitter to bottom of the frame.
- After Saint Michael's broke up the no-hit bid on the second pitch of the inning, Divita came out of the game and the bullpen allowed six runs.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
- Lavigne went 4-for-5 with three RBI, three runs scored and a walk.
- Wachter finished 3-for-6 with five RBI, a pair of runs scored and a home run.
- Valera was 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored, a double and a walk.
- Colon (four RBI, three runs, triple, walk, stolen base) and Marshall (double) were each 2-for-5.
- Burgos (RBI, three runs, three walks) and Pisano (RBI, run, walk) both went 1-for-2.
- Fernandez (RBI, three runs, two walks, steal) and junior Jake Risedorf (Barkhamsted, Conn.; run, walk) went 1-for-4.
- Junior Ben Hladun (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) faced four batters and did not record an out, as he relinquished four runs on three hits and a walk.
- Despite not allowing a hit, junior Connor Jensen (Shelton, Conn.) gave up one run on a walk and three hit batters, while striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- SNHU trailed, 4-1, after six, before a six-run seventh – that featured only two hits – flipped the Penmen into the lead at 7-4. Five walks, a hit batter and two wild pitches contributed to the inning.
- Marshall hit a two-run home run to left in the eighth to nudge the lead to 9-4.
- The Penmen bats exploded to hang a 10-spot in the ninth, highlighted by Watcher's second grand slam of the day. With the score 14-4, back-to-back, two-out errors directly allowed four more runs to come home, with the fifth unearned run of the frame scoring on a wild pitch to make it 19-4.
- The Purple Knights would tack on three in the bottom of the ninth.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 2
- Pisano was 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.
- Colon (four runs, two walks, two steals) and Burgos (RBI, two runs, two doubles, walk) were both 3-for-5.
- Marshall went 2-for-5 with three RBI, a run, a home run and a walk.
- Fernandez finished 2-for-6 with three RBI and a run scored.
- Lavigne (three runs, walk) and Risedorf (two runs, two walks) each went 1-for-3.
- Wachter was 1-for-4 with five RBI, two runs scored, a home run and three walks.
- Sophomore Zachary Brassill (No. Hampton, N.H.) allowed four runs on five hits, while striking out six and not issuing a walk, over five-and-a-third innings to record his first win of the season (1-3).
- Graduate student Cam Varney (Manchester, N.H.) fired two-and-two-thirds innings of shutout baseball, relinquishing just one hit, while punching out three.
- Freshman Garrett Hammer (Auburn, N.H.) gave up three runs on three hits, striking out one, in two-thirds of an inning.
- Freshman Kaleb Fiscus (Huntington Beach, Calif.) allowed a hit and a walk in a third of an inning.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25, has won seven-in-a-row.
- The Penmen improve to 49-2 all-time versus Saint Michael's and have won 39 straight meetings, including 16 consecutive games in Colchester. The last win in the series for the Purple Knights was April 17, 2013 at home (8-2). SNHU has also scored in double figures in seven straight against SMC, piling up 126 runs (18 runs per game).
- The SNHU offense has come alive over the last four games, averaging 18 runs per contest.
- Wachter has driven in 16 runs in the last three games, giving him a league-best 50 RBI on the season, which ties him for 10th in the program's single-season record book. His 112 RBI in just two seasons put him in seventh place all-time at SNHU.
- Wachter's two home runs give him 11 on the season (third in the NE10) and 20 for his career, moving him into an eighth-place tie with Sam Henrie (2018-22) in the SNHU record book.
- Marshall's long-ball is his 12th of the season, extending his program rookie record and tying him for seventh in the Penmen single-season record book.
- Over his last two outings, Divita is 2-0 with a 0.75, ERA and 0.50 WHIP, allowing one run and one hit over 12 innings, striking out 12 and walking five.
- Pisano has hit safely in 11 of the 12 games he has played in this season.
- Colon has a hit in 31 of his 35 games this year, including 10 of his last 11 and seven straight.
