Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) hit three home runs to lead the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team to a doubleheader sweep of Pace University on Friday at Penmen Field. SNHU recorded a 5-3 victory in game one, before winning, 3-1, in seven innings in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Pace struck first in the top of the second with a one-out home run to center off the bat of Mason Baronian
- Southern New Hampshire pulled even in the home half of the third when Burgos absolutely clobbered a solo bomb to left.
- The Penmen snapped the tie in the fifth when Burgos crushed another solo shot over the bullpen in left. Following a Risedorf base hit to right, sophomore Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) followed with a no-doubter to the trees in center, making it 4-1.
- SNHU added insurance in the seventh, with an RBI single to left from freshman Jackson Marshall (Hooksett, N.H.) nudging the lead to 5-1.
- Four hits, including a line drive to left that was misplayed and turned into an RBI double, allowed Pace to score three runs in the ninth. The Setters would leave the go-ahead run at the plate after graduate student Cam Varney (Manchester, N.H.) came in to slam the door.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
- Risedorf went 3-for-4 with a run scored.
- Burgos finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and a pair of home runs.
- Wachter (two RBI, run, home run, walk, steal), Marshall (RBI, steal) and Colon (walk) were all 1-for-3.
- Sophomore Devin Divita (New Hartford, Conn.) was charged with two runs on four hits over an inning-and-two-thirds, striking out three and not walking a batter.
- Varney retired both batters he faced, including one via strikeout, to earn his sixth save of the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- Both teams scraped across a run in the first, before junior Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) broke the tie in the fourth when he clubbed a one-out home run to center to put the Penmen in front, 2-1.
- Burgos gave the Penmen some breathing room in the fifth with a two-out laser over the wall in center.

- Burgos was 2-for-3 with an RBI, two runs and a home run.
- Colon went 1-for-2.
- Risedorf (double) and Pisano (RBI, run, home run) were both 1-for-3.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire has won nine of its last 10.
- SNHU now leads the all-time series with Pace, 16-15, and has won 12 of the last 16 meetings, including eight-in-a-row at home. The last time the Setters defeated the Penmen in Hooksett was April 6, 2012 (4-3).
- Burgos now has six home runs in his last eight games, giving him eight on the season and 30 for his career. He is now seven shy of the all-time record of 37 by Dakota Mulcay (2018-22).
- Pisano, who has hit safely in 13 of the 15 games he has played in this season, hit his second home run of the year and 11th of his career.
- Burgos has a six-game hitting streak, which matches his longest of the season. During that stretch, Burgos is 11-for-22 (.500) with five home runs, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored.
- Colon has a hit in 34 of his 38 games this year, including 13 of his last 14 and 10 straight.
