HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
  • Pace struck first in the top of the second with a one-out home run to center off the bat of Mason Baronian
  • Southern New Hampshire pulled even in the home half of the third when Burgos absolutely clobbered a solo bomb to left.
  • The Penmen snapped the tie in the fifth when Burgos crushed another solo shot over the bullpen in left. Following a Risedorf base hit to right, sophomore Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) followed with a no-doubter to the trees in center, making it 4-1.
  • SNHU added insurance in the seventh, with an RBI single to left from freshman Jackson Marshall (Hooksett, N.H.) nudging the lead to 5-1.
  • Four hits, including a line drive to left that was misplayed and turned into an RBI double, allowed Pace to score three runs in the ninth. The Setters would leave the go-ahead run at the plate after graduate student Cam Varney (Manchester, N.H.) came in to slam the door.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
  • Risedorf went 3-for-4 with a run scored.
  • Burgos finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and a pair of home runs.

  • Sophomore Devin Divita (New Hartford, Conn.) was charged with two runs on four hits over an inning-and-two-thirds, striking out three and not walking a batter.
  • Varney retired both batters he faced, including one via strikeout, to earn his sixth save of the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
  • Both teams scraped across a run in the first, before junior Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) broke the tie in the fourth when he clubbed a one-out home run to center to put the Penmen in front, 2-1.
  • Burgos gave the Penmen some breathing room in the fifth with a two-out laser over the wall in center.
