Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany) secured a victory at No. 3 singles, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team fell to Adelphi University, 6-1, Saturday at the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Roeder was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 3 singles against Hugo Munoz Reinoso.
NOTES
- Sophomore Albert Modol (Lleida, Spain) pulled out a 7-6 (7-2) win in the opening set of his No. 2 singles match, but Louca Bertone rallied to capture the last two sets, 6-3, 6-4.
- Roeder and Modol also narrowly lost the doubles-point clincher, suffering a 7-6 (7-2) defeat at the second flight to Marko Jovanovic and Rodrigo Ochoa.
- Freshman Noah Cadilhac (Montpellier, France) also pushed Ochoa to three sets at No. 6 singles, but was beaten, 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 10-6).
- Southern New Hampshire has dropped its last six matches.
- SNHU continues to lead the all-time series with the Panthers, 11-9. The Penmen have won eight of the last 14 meetings, though Adelphi has now won six of the last seven, including five straight. SNHU's last win in the series came April 20, 2023 in a 4-1 NE10 Championship semifinal road victory.
