Labonte, Obernesser honored as CSC All-Academic East Region

Obernesser, Labonte Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Juniors Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) and Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) of the Southern New Hampshire University Cross Country and Track & Field programs have been named to the Academic All-District® Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The honor recognizes their excellence both on the track and in the classroom.

Dillon Labonte

Labonte, an electrical engineering and mathematics major, boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA. He qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship held in November in Sacramento, Calif., and was subsequently honored with the NCAA Elite 90 Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship. He also earned the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Elite 24 Award and was named the recipient of the NE10 Sport Excellence Award for men's cross country. Labonte led the Penmen in every race last fall, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the NE10 Championship in Hopkinton, N.H.

Corrina Obernesser

Obernesser, a justice studies major with a concentration in policing and law enforcement, was recognized with her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District honor. She qualified for the NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Championship for the third straight year, marking her as one of the most consistent performers in the region. Last fall, she placed third at both the NE10 Championship and the NCAA Division II East Regional. Additionally, Obernesser was named a USTFCCCA East All-Region performer in the steeplechase, repeating as champion at the NE10 Championships in that event for the second consecutive season.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Cross Country and Track & Field Teams, selected by CSC, honor the nation's top student-athletes for their combined achievements in athletic competition and academic performance. Both Labonte and Obernesser have advanced to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where final selections will be made by CSC members.
