NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore
Barbara Brito (São Brás de Alportel, Portugal) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team was named the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 18, the league office announced Tuesday.
Brito went 2-0 in SNHU's 4-2 win over Adelphi University on Saturday. She scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Sara Lindeman at No. 3 singles and also teamed with freshman
Luna den Besten (Amsterdam, Netherlands) for a 6-1 triumph over Zuzanna Witkowska and Matilda Buchen at No. 3 doubles.
Brito is 8-1 in singles action this year, including a perfect 6-0 in dual matches and 5-0 in NE10 play. She is also 5-2 in doubles, including 3-1 in the league.
Brito and the Penmen are off until the spring.
