Southern New Hampshire University dropped a 3-1 decision to Post University on Friday afternoon at the Sports Center of Connecticut.

KEY MOMENT

After SNHU tied the game late in the first period on a goal by freshman Zach Vickerman (Queensville, Ontario), Post regained the lead midway through the second and added an empty-net goal in the final minute to secure the win.

NOTES
  • Post opened the scoring at 9:02 of the first period on an even-strength goal by Jacob Howell.
  • The Penmen responded on the power play at 19:21 when Vickerman scored, assisted by freshman Kenny Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) and junior Stone Devlin (W. Falmouth, Mass.).
  • Post regained the lead at 9:30 of the second period on a goal by Owen Atkinson.
  • SNHU generated steady offensive pressure in the third period, outshooting Post 13-9 in the final frame, but was unable to find the equalizer.
  • The Eagles added an empty-net goal with 46 seconds remaining to account for the final margin.
  • Junior Sean Guerin (Chicago, Ill.) made 30 saves in net for the Penmen.
  • SNHU outshot Post 30-29 and went 1-for-5 on the power play, while Post finished 0-for-5 with the man advantage.
  • Post has won two of the three meetings with SNHU this season.  The Penmen lead all-time 23-8.
  • Vickerman is tied for second on the club with 13 points (six goals, seven assists).
