Southern New Hampshire University baseball opened its 2026 season Wednesday evening against No. 17 Felician, the defending East Region champion, at the Ripken Experience. The Golden Falcons built a seven-run lead through four innings and held off a late Penmen rally to secure a 10-6 victory.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Trailing 8-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, SNHU surged back into contention with a four-run frame. Senior JR Bozek (Danville, N.H.) drew one of his three walks to start the rally and graduate student Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) followed with a double. Senior Dakota Britt (Rockwall, Texas) delivered an RBI single before redshirt-junior Brody Keneston (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) cleared the bases with a three-run double to left, trimming the deficit to 8-6. Felician answered in the top of the eighth with a two-run homer to reestablish control at 10-6.
NOTES
  • Felician struck first with a two-run home run in the second inning by Neisser Sanchez and added two runs in the third on a pair of RBI doubles to take a 4-0 lead.
  • The Golden Falcons extended the advantage to 7-0 with three runs in the fourth before the Penmen got on the board in the fifth. SNHU capitalized on control issues and a defensive miscue, as Britt drew a bases-loaded walk and senior Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) was hit by a pitch with the bases full to make it 7-2.
  • Keneston paced the Penmen with three RBIs, while Britt drove in two and reached base three times. McNamara finished 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. As a team, SNHU drew nine walks.
  • Senior Parker Lendrum (Exeter, N.H.) took the loss in his Opening Day start, allowing seven runs over 3.2 innings. Senior Noah Wachter (Concord, N.H.) and redshirt-junior Ben Gilbert (Altamont, N.Y.) combined for 5.1 innings of relief.
  • This was the fourth consecutive season the Penmen and Golden Falcons have clashed in Myrtle Beach.  SNHU leads the all-time series 23-7, but Felician has won four of the last five.
UP NEXT
  • A schedule change for Friday will see the Penmen face Queens (N.Y.) in a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Ripken Experience.
