KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU struck first midway through the second period when senior Kurt Watson (London, Ont.) put a power-play goal on the board.
  • The Penmen doubled their lead midway through third period with another power-play tally off the stick of freshman Aidan Rufa (Massena, N.Y.). Fellow freshman Zach Vickerman (Queensville, Ontario) set up the goal.
NOTES
  • Watson scores for the second straight day and now leads the team with 10 goals. It was his 32nd tally as a Penmen.
  • Seniors Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ont.) and Ryan Pomposelli (Needham, Mass.) collected assists on the Watson goal.

  • The Penmen finished with a 38-29 advantage in shots and went 2-for-4 on the power play, while SMC was 0-for-3 with the man advantage for the second straight contest.
  • The Purple Knights still lead the all-time series with the Penmen, 59-32-7, but see their five-game winning streak halted. Saint Michael's, which had also won two straight at the Ice Den, was 3-0 against SNHU this season entering the day. All three meetings had been decided by a single goal.
