Ugo Nwachukwu (Imo State, Nigeria) posted a dominant double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit to earn a 67-64 Northeast 10 Conference victory over Bentley University on Tuesday night at the Charles A. Dana Center. With the win, the Penmen clinched the final playoff spot in the Northeast 10 Championship and secured the No. 7 seed.
KEY MOMENTS
- Bentley carried a 34-29 advantage into halftime after a strong shooting performance in the opening 20 minutes.
- The Falcons built their largest lead of the night at 62-52 with 4:47 remaining in the second half, but SNHU responded with a decisive 15-2 run to close the game.
- Nwachukwu ignited the comeback inside, scoring through contact and converting key free throws to pull the Penmen within one. Senior T.J. Morris (Jamaica, N.Y.) then delivered the biggest shot of the night, knocking down a go-ahead three-pointer with 52 seconds left to give SNHU a 64-62 lead. Free throws by Nwachukwu, Morris, and Wallace kept the Falcons at bay.
- SNHU outscored Bentley 38-30 in the second half and held the Falcons to 34.4 percent shooting after the break.

- The victory clinches the seventh and final spot in the Northeast 10 Championship field for the Penmen, who needed wins in six of their final seven games, along with a Franklin Pierce upset of Southern Connecticut (78-76) in Rindge on Wednesday night.
- Bentley leads the all-time series 35-33, although the Penmen have won two of three games against the Falcons this season and four of the last five overall.
- This marks the sixth consecutive season SNHU has qualified for the Northeast 10 Championship. The Penmen have won the tournament each of the past two seasons.
