Senior Dakota Britt (Rockwall, Texas) hit two of the nine Penmen home runs, as the 22nd-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team posted a decisive 24-0 victory against Saint Anselm College on Wednesday at Sullivan Park.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Southern New Hampshire scored single runs in each of the first three innings before Britt's two-run homer powered a three-run fourth that made it 6-0.
- Another three-run frame, highlighted by a two-run shot from graduate student Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.), pushed the score to 10-0 after six.
- Junior Joel Valera (Boston, Mass.) smacked a two-run homer to cap a four-run seventh that expanded the lead to 14-0.
- SNHU broke it wide open with eight in the eighth to make it 22-0. Redshirt-freshman Jack Quinn (Boca Raton, Fla.) smashed a three-run homer to add the exclamation point in the inning.
- Junior River Hart (Nashua, N.H.) and Britt hit solo shots in the ninth to finish it off.
- Britt finished 4-for-7 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and four runs scored.
- Senior Kyle Lavigne (Bedford, N.H.) went 4-for-5 with a double, home run, two RBI and a run scored.
- Junior Casey Cumiskey (Milltown, N.J.) was 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles, a home run, an RBI and two runs scored.
- McNamara was 2-for-3 with a home run, double, walk, two RBI and three runs scored.
- Senior Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
- Sophomore Garrett Hammer (Auburn, N.H.) tossed four-and-a-third shutout innings, allowing just four hits, while punching out four and walking one, to improve to 2-0 this season.
- Graduate student Noah Wachter (Concord, N.H.) followed with two-and-two-thirds shutout frames, giving up just one hit, while striking out three and walking one.
- After sophomore Austin Campbell (Franklin, Mass.) gave up a hit in a scoreless third of an inning, sophomore Alex Primeau (Sainte Julie, Quebec; 0.2 IP), redshirt-sophomore Ben Gilbert (Altamont, N.Y.; 0.1 IP), junior Danny Tchou (Boca Raton, Fla.; 0.1 IP) and senior Steven Kienzle (Holbrook, N.Y., 0.1 IP) combined for an inning-and-two-thirds of hitless ball.

- Southern New Hampshire, ranked 22nd in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 and receiving votes in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division II Baseball Coaches Poll, has won 15-in-a-row.
- The Penmen are outscoring their opponents, 222-74, during the 15-game winning streak and averaging 14.8 runs per contest. SNHU has also scored 20-plus runs in three consecutive games.
- With Bentley University losing to Assumption University on Wednesday, the Penmen take a one-game lead atop the NE10 standings.
- The 24-0 score was the second largest shutout victory in program history. The Penmen defeated Belknap College, 25-0, on May 19, 1967.
- The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Anselm, 76-35, and have won 14 of the last 15 meetings. SNHU has also captured five straight at Saint Anselm. The last time the Hawks won on their home field was April 10, 2022 (11-8).
- Britt's two home runs give him five for the season and 10 in his career.
- Redshirt-junior Brody Keneston (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) went deep for the 19th time in his career, including the fourth time this season.
