Sophomore Livi Sousa (Hudson, Mass.) led the way for the Penmen, contributing in all facets with three sacrifice flies in the nightcap — including the game-winner — while also making a key defensive play in Game 1.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Penmen relied on pitching and defense to secure a 2-0 victory in the opener.
  • SNHU broke through in the fourth inning when Sousa reached on an error that allowed junior Kaysie DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.) to score. The Penmen added an insurance run in the fifth on an RBI double by senior Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.).
  • Junior Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) was dominant in the circle, tossing a three-hit shutout while striking out 10.
  • Defensively, Sousa made a highlight-reel play to end the game, throwing out a runner at the plate to preserve the shutout.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Penmen rallied late to complete the sweep with a 6-5, 11-inning victory.
  • SNHU jumped out early with three runs in the first inning, highlighted by an RBI single from sophomore Alyssa Abbott (Hudson, N.H.) and a sacrifice fly by Sousa.
  • AIC battled back to tie the game and eventually took a 4-3 lead in the ninth inning, but the Penmen responded in the bottom half when Sousa delivered a sacrifice fly to even the score.
  • After AIC regained the lead in the 10th inning, SNHU again answered, as Abbott drove in the tying run.
  • In the 11th inning, Sousa delivered once more, lifting a sacrifice fly to center field to bring home the winning run.
  • Colbert earned the win in relief, striking out two in a scoreless inning after entering in the 11th.
  • Freshman Sophie Roussel (Goffstown, N.H.) worked the first five innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits.
  • Sophomore Kayla O'Boyle (Commack, N.Y.) pitched from innings six through 10 in the circle, allowing two unearned runs.
  • Abbott led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, while DeMoura and senior Sidney Rose (Davidson, N.C.) added hits.
