Senior Brynn Goulet (Tyngsboro, Mass.) piled up six points, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-9 decision to Assumption University on Saturday in its regular-season finale at Brian Kelly Stadium.
KEY MOMENTS
- Assumption scored the first six goals of the game, with a goal from sophomore Sabrina Redding (Forked River, N.J.) putting Southern New Hampshire on the board with 1:42 left in the opening quarter.
- SNHU buried three of the first five goals of the second quarter, with Goulet scoring the first and redshirt-freshman Piper Knowlton (Chester, N.H.) following with two-in-a-row to pull the Penmen within 8-4 with 3:33 left before the break. Assumption would tack on two more to take a 10-4 advantage into halftime.
- The Penmen put four of the first six tallies on the board in the third quarter, with Goulet registering two goals and an assist during the stretch, as the visitors would get back within 12-8 with 3:55 left. That was as close as they would get, however, as Assumption limited them to just one goal over the final 18-plus minutes.

- Southern New Hampshire ends the regular season at 3-6 in the NE10 and will have its eyes on the Saint Michael's College-Bentley University contest on Tuesday (April 21) at 3 p.m. A Bentley win and the Penmen will be into the NE10 Championship as the No. 7 seed, and will travel to No. 2 Pace University in the opening round.

- Freshman Abby Bouffard (Biddeford, Maine) handed out a pair of helpers.
- Sophomore Corrina Moulton (Barre, Vt.) stopped 17 of the 33 shots she faced.
- Assumption leads the all-time series, 13-11, and has won 10 straight, including six-in-a-row at home. The last win for the Penmen against the Greyhounds came April 12, 2017 (18-14). SNHU has not defeated Assumption on the road since April 13, 2016 (14-9).
- Assumption outshot SNHU, 39-24, including 30-16 in shots on target.
- The Greyhounds doubled up the Penmen in ground balls, 22-11, and held a slight edge in draw controls (14-13).
