Junior Casey Cumiskey (Milltown, N.J.) went 4-for-5 with a home run and six RBI, as the 22nd-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team posted a 19-11 victory against Saint Anselm College on Tuesday afternoon at Sullivan Park.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Saint Anselm built a 4-1 lead through the first five innings, but Southern New Hampshire scored four times in the sixth, including a three-run homer by Cumiskey that put the Penmen in front, 5-4.
  • After the Hawks responded with three in the home half of the inning, a three-run blast off the bat of graduate student Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) flipped SNHU back into the lead and keyed a 13-run seventh for the visitors. A two-run double by Cumiskey, two-run homer from senior JR Bozek (Danville, N.H.) and a two-run single by senior Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) quickly made it 14-7, before an RBI double by McNamara, run-scoring singles from junior Joel Valera (Boston, Mass.) and senior Kyle Lavigne (Bedford, N.H.) and a sacrifice fly by Cumiskey ran the score to 18-7.
  • Cumiskey finished 4-for-5 with a double, home run, six RBI and three runs scored.
  • McNamara (walk, double, home run, four RBI, four runs), Valera (RBI, two runs) and Lavigne (three RBI, run) were all 3-for-6.
  • Pisano went 3-for-5 with two walks, two RBI and two runs.
  • Bozek (home run, two RBI, run) and senior Dakota Britt (Rockwall, Texas; walk, RBI, two runs) were both 2-for-5.
  • Sophomore Garrett Hammer (Auburn, N.H.) pitched the first four innings, giving up three runs – all unearned – on four hits, while striking out three and walking three.
  • Graduate student Noah Wachter (Concord, N.H.) collected the win for the second straight game, despite allowing four runs on six hits. Wachter (2-1) struck out three and hit a batter.
  • Junior Danny Tchou (Boca Raton, Fla.) struck out one and hit a batter, as he nailed down the final five outs without allowing a hit.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, ranked 22nd in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 and receiving votes in both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division II Baseball Coaches Poll and D2 Baseball Top 25, has won 19 of the last 20, including four straight.
  • SNHU sweeps the four-game, regular-season series from Saint Anselm, outscoring the Hawks, 72-31.
  • The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Anselm, 77-35, and have won 15 of the last 16 meetings. SNHU has also captured six straight at Saint Anselm. The last time the Hawks won on their home field was April 10, 2022 (11-8).
  • Cumiskey now has a team-best 13 home runs on the year and 14 in his career.
  • McNamara's 12th home run of the season is the 29th of his career.
  • Bozek's homer is his fourth of the season and 14th of his career.
  • Lavigne has the team's longest hitting streak at eight games.
  • Valera has a hit in 21 of his last 22 games, including seven straight.
