Avary Hall (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) pulled the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team even in the 60th minute, but Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University would answer just over three minutes later to collect a 2-1 victory Monday at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium.
KEY MOMENT
- After Embry-Riddle snapped the scoreless deadlock late in the 54th minute, junior Emma Noheimer (Oxford, Conn.), who scored an equalizer of her own in the opener, set up Hall to tie it at the 59:44 mark. The Eagles would go back ahead for good just 3:26 later.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire is 0-2-0 to start the season for the first time since the 2000 campaign. But it is also the first time since 2018 the Penmen opened up with back-to-back nationally-ranked opponents – neither of which were the No. 1-ranked team in the country or the defending NCAA Division II National Champions, as Saturday's opponent, the Florida Institute of Technology, was.
- Embry-Riddle is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll.
