Jillian Collins (Wilmington, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to Roberts Wesleyan University on Tuesday afternoon at Roberts Stadium.
KEY MOMENT
- Collins pulled the Penmen within 2-1 with an unassisted tally in the 69th minute, but Miah Lathrop answered for the Redhawks just 3:44 later to restore the two-goal advantage.
NOTES
- Collins' goal was the third of her career and first of the season.
- Jenna Northup opened the scoring for Roberts Wesleyan in the eighth minute before Adria Ariola doubled the lead in the 16th.
- SNHU outshot the Redhawks, 6-3, after Collins entered the match in the 59th minute.
- The Penmen held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks, including a 4-2 margin in the second half.
- Roberts Wesleyan finished with a 12-9 edge in shots, while both teams placed five shots on goal.
- Senior Isabel Hughes (Phoenix, Ariz.) made four saves for the Penmen.
- This was just the second meeting between the teams. The Penmen had defeated the Redhawks 2-0 in the NCAA Div. II Championship First Round in 2023.
