Junior Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) captured the individual title, while freshman Kalison Marzolf (Derry, N.H.) finished second in her collegiate debut as the Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team opened its season at the 44th annual Shacklette Invitational on Saturday.

KEY MOMENT

• Wojcik completed the two-mile course in 11:45, finishing 36 seconds ahead of Marzolf. The Penmen claimed the first two positions in the race, with Marzolf crossing the line in 12:21.

NOTES

• Senior Deirdre Bailat (North Billerica, Mass.) gave SNHU three of the first six finishers, placing sixth in 12:51.
• Freshman Maddy Howard (Haverhill, Mass.) finished ninth in her collegiate debut with a time of 12:56.
• Senior Natalie Sicard (Nottingham, N.H.) completed the Penmen's scoring five, placing 19th in 13:35.
• Sophomore Faith Perry (Pawtucket, R.I.) also recorded a time of 13:35 while competing unattached.
• Saint Anselm won the team competition with 27 points, edging SNHU by three points. The Penmen finished with 30 points.
