at-bats with 21 runs, connected for 44 hits, nine doubles, two home runs, and 20 RBI… slugged .455 for the season… ended the season with a .993 fielding percentage while completing only one error, making 61 assists, and completing six double plays… helped the Penmen secure a 11-10 win over Wilmington (Del) by notching a home run and five RBI’s… was named Northeast-10 Third-team All-Conference…Cheney became the career hit leader in program history this season with 177 hits… also ranks second in career RBI with 89 and third in career home runs with 22…finished tied for the career games played record with 175...was a co-captain for the 2013 season.
2012: Started in all 47 games for the Penmen at second base...finished the season with a .362 batting average, good for second-highest on the squad...slugged a team-high .664 on the season and posted a team-high .412 on-base percentage...connected for 55 hits on the season including a team-high 15 home runs...ranked second in home runs in the Northeast-10 Conference during the regular season...led the team in runs batted in with 36...connected for her 100th career hit against American International (3/31)...wrapped up the season on an 11-game hitting streak, including seven games with more than one hit (4/17-4/25)...had two three-hit games on the season against West Virgina Wesleyan (3/7) and New Haven (4/7)...earned Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team honors.
2011: Appeared in and started 44 games on the season…led the team at the plate with a .362 batting average and a team-best 47 hits…led the Northeast-10 Conference in doubles with 15…also added three homeruns on the season…posted 11 multi-hit games on the season…went 3-3 against Bentley with a double and an RBI (3/29)…batted 4-4 in both ends of a doubleheader against Pace (4/17) with four doubles and a homerun…went 3-3 with a double and two RBIs against American International (4/22)…named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week after batting .636 over a four-game streak (3/27-4/3)…also earned Northeast-10 Third-Team All-Conference honors.
2010: One of five Penmen players to start all 40 games on the season…collected first collegiate hit, a double, against NYIT (3/20)…went 3-4 with a double and a run batted in against C.W. Post (3/27)…had a five game hitting streak, batting .500 (8-16) with a double, home run, and three runs batted in…went 3-5 with a double and two runs batted in during a double-header against Stonehill (4/3)…went 2-2 with two doubles and a run scored against Saint Anselm (4/13)…went 1-3 with a home run against Adelphi (4/19)…collected five hits in eight at-bats spanning both games of a double-header against Franklin Pierce (4/21).
BEFORE SNHU/PERSONAL: 2009 graduate of Abington where she played four years of soccer, basketball and softball...played softball for coach Kate Daley...batted .576 as a senior and set the school record for RBIs in a season with 21...served as captain for the Green Wave and was named the team MVP...also was a team captain in soccer and basketball...born Kelsea Danielle Cheney...daughter of Dan and Kim Cheney...sister Brittany played softball at the University of Maine...Psychology major.
