Alex Satrustegui

Former Penmen standout Alex Satrustegui joined the SNHU men’s soccer staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2023 season.
 
Since returning to his alma mater, Satrustegui has helped lead the Penmen to a pair of NCAA tournament appearances (2023, 2024), as well as two trips to the NE10 Championship final, including the program’s eighth NE10 title in 2024 when the team also won the league’s regular season crown. Satrustegui, who was a member of the 2024 United Soccer Coaches East Region Staff of the Year, has mentored three All-Americans, 10 All-Region performers and16 All-Conference Selections, including a Player, Defensive Player, Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Year, while assisting the 2024 Coach of the Year.
 
Since coming back to SNHU in 2023, Satrustegui has also served as the head coach of the New Hampshire ODP U16 Boys squad. Additionally, he coaches at Seacoast United with the Phantoms USL2.
 
Prior to returning to Manchester, Satrustegui played professionally for three seasons in the National Independent Soccer Association.
 
In just 45 matches during three seasons as a player with the Penmen, Satrustegui racked up 40 goals and eight assists for 88 points. His 19-goal campaign in 2018 netted him Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America Second Team, United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team and NE10 Player of the Year accolades. Satrustegui was a D2CCA East All-Region First Team performer in both 2017 and 2018, in addition to being a two-time United Soccer Coaches East All-Region selection, including a First Teamer in 2018. He was also a three-time NE10 All-Conference pick, including a two-time First Team choice (2017, 2018). Satrustegui finished tied for ninth on the program’s all-time goals scored list, as he helped guide the team to a 33-11-9 (.708) mark.
 
Before arriving at SNHU, Satrustegui developed, both as a person and a player, at the C.A. Osasuna Academy, which is a prestigious club in Spain that competes in LaLiga.
 
Satrustegui, who was born in San Sebastian, Spain, and grew up in Pamplona, Spain, earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from SNHU in 2019.
