SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Southern New Hampshire
women's tennis team opened its 2007-08 season with a 5-4 loss on
the road at Le Moyne College on Sunday. The Dolphins improved
to 1-2 (1-0 Northeast-10), while the Penmen are 0-1 and 0-1 in the
league.
Amanda Nason (Center Sandwich, NH) earned a win
at No. 4 singles for the Penmen, a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 winner over
Marielle Artessa of Le Moyne. Melissa Ramos
(Stoughton, MA) and Meghan Welch (Mont Vernon, NH)
also picked up singles wins, with Ramos an 8-2 winner in the No. 5
spot and Welch a 8-0 winner at No. 6. Ramos and Nason also
teamed up to post an 8-2 doubles win at No. 3 doubles.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action next Sunday when it
hosts Franklin Pierce University for a 1:00 match.
