MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire University posted a 7-2 Northeast-10 women's tennis victory over Franklin Pierce University Sunday afternoon at the SNHU courts.  The Penmen evened their overall and Northeast-10 records at 1-1, while it marked the season opener for the Ravens.

SNHU took down victories in five of the six singles matches en route to the victory.  Kristen Franco (Bedford, NH) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 2 singles.  Also posting singles wins were Juliet Verhofstad (Plymouth, NH) at No. 3, Amanda Nason (Center Sandwich, NH) at No. 4, Melissa Ramos (Stoughton, MA) at No. 5 and Meghan Welch (Mont Vernon, NH) at No. 6.

Verhofstad and Alison Waring (Westboro, MA) posted an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Nason and Ramos were 8-0 winners in the third doubles spot.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action next Sunday when it travels to Merrimack College for a 12:00 match.
