WORCESTER, Mass. -
Southern New Hampshire University posted a 9-0 Northeast-10 women's
tennis victory over Assumption College Saturday afternoon at the
Assumption courts. The Penmen won their second straight to
improve to 5-1 overall and in the NE-10 while Assumption is 3-3
overall and 3-2 in the league.
Amber Chandronnait
(Bow, NH) and Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia)
posted singles wins at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, and teamed up
for a 8-0 win at first doubles. Lauren
Nigrelli (Westerly, RI) and Alison Waring
(Westborough, MA) were 8-6 winners at second doubles while winning
at third and fourth singles, while Courteney Blais
(Paxton, MA) and Meghan Welch (Mont Vernon, NH)
were 8-5 winners at third doubles while also taking down singles
victories.
SNHU returns to action Sunday
evening with a match against Saint Anselm College at 6:00 pm.
That match will be played at the Goffstown YMCA.
