MANCHESTER, N.H. -
Southern New Hampshire University posted its fourth straight
victory Monday afternoon, downing Merrimack College in Northeast-10
women's tennis 5-4 at the SNHU courts. The Penmen improve to
10-2 overall and in the NE-10 with the win, while the Warriors are
now 7-5 and 6-2 in the league.
The win in SNHU's Northeast-10
regular season finale ensured that the Penmen will claim at least a
share of second place in the final league standings. Southern
New Hampshire will host a NE-10 quarterfinal match on Tuesday,
April 21.
Sophomores Amber
Chandronnait (Bow, NH) and Catalina
Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) each posted a pair of wins,
as Chandronnait was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 1 singles while
Echeverry was a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2. The pair also teamed
up for SNHU's lone doubles point at first doubles.
Also earning singles wins for the
Penmen were Alison
Waring (Westborough, MA) at No. 4 and Meghan Welch (Mont
Vernon, NH) at No. 5.
SNHU closes out the regular season
with a home match against Queens (NY) College on Tuesday at 4:00.
