MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern
New Hampshire University women's tennis team posted a 7-2
Northeast-10 victory over the University of New Haven at the SNHU
courts Sunday afternoon. The Penmen, who are ranked No. 3 in
this week's NCAA Division II East region ranking, improved to 8-2
overall and in the NE-10, while the Chargers are 2-7 and 1-7 in the
league.
Sophomores Amber
Chandronnait (Bow, NH) and Catalina
Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) were each doubles winners,
as the pair were 6-1, 6-0 winners at first and second singles,
respectively, and posted an 8-2 win in first doubles play.
Senior Meghan
Welch (Mont Vernon, NH) was also a double winner,
posting a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles and teaming with Courteney
Blais (Paxton, MA) for a 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
SNHU returns to
action with a 4:00 match against Merrimack at home on Tuesday
afternoon.
