MANCHESTER, N.H.—Emily Donahue
(Bristol , R.I.) tallied her second goal of the season in the
14th minute to lead the Southern New Hampshire
University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win against the Le Moyne
College at Larkin Field on Saturday afternoon. The win marks
the third-straight for the Penmen, who improve to 7-6-1 overall and
6-5-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the loss drops the
visiting Dolphins to 5-6-2 overall and 3-6-2 in NE-10
play.
Alyssa
Thayer (Hooksett, N.H.) set up Donahue in the left
side of the box to fire home a shot to the far right post.
The goal would prove to the only offense needed by the Penmen, as
the 1-0 lead stood for the rest of the game.

Cardoso's (Stoughton, Mass.) header shot off a cross
from Kaleigh
Roberge (Manchester, N.H.) in the 57th
minute was the Penmen's best chance to score in the second
half. The ball struck the bottom of the cross bar and was
batted away from the goal by Le Moyne goalkeeper Felicia Tynan.
Le Moyne's best chance to even the game came late in the second
half, as a high shot by Christie Morano flew just wide of the right
post.
Maggie
Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) made one save in net for the
Penmen to record her sixth shutout of the season. Tynan
stopped six saves in the complete-game effort for Le Moyne.
The Penmen outshot the Dolphins 25-7 on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Tuesday, hosting
cross-town rival Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference
action at 7:00 p.m. on Larkin Field.
