Penmen Battle No. 16 Merrimack to Scoreless Tie

MANCHESTER, N.H.—The Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team battled through 110 minutes of scoreless soccer with No. 16 Merrimack College to post the 0-0 double overtime tie on Saturday afternoon.  With the tie, the Penmen even their record to 4-4-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Warriors set their record to 6-2-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the NE-10. 

Southern New Hampshire dominated play in the second half, posting a 10-3 shot advantage in second slate.  The Penmen also posted a 7-4 shot advantage in both overtime periods. 

Maggie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) recorded two saves en route to the shutout.  Merrimack goalkeeper Kiley Horne stopped eight saves in the complete-game effort as the Penmen outshot the Warriors by a total of 24-13 on the afternoon. 

Southern New Hampshire is back in action on Tuesday, hosting American International College at 7:00 p.m. in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at Larkin Field.
