MANCHESTER,
N.H.—The Southern New Hampshire University women's
soccer team battled through 110 minutes of scoreless soccer with
No. 16 Merrimack College to post the 0-0 double
overtime tie on Saturday afternoon. With the tie, the
Penmen even their record to 4-4-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the
Northeast-10 Conference, while the Warriors set their record to
6-2-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the NE-10.
Southern New Hampshire dominated
play in the second half, posting a 10-3 shot advantage in second
slate. The Penmen also posted a 7-4 shot advantage in both
overtime periods.
Maggie Weldon
(Manchester, N.H.) recorded two saves en route to the
shutout. Merrimack goalkeeper Kiley Horne stopped eight saves
in the complete-game effort as the Penmen outshot the Warriors by a
total of 24-13 on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire is back in
action on Tuesday, hosting American International College at 7:00
p.m. in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at Larkin
Field.
