TAMPA, Fla. – The Southern New Hampshire
University women's tennis team downed No. 37 University of
Tampa 5-4 Tuesday evening. The Penmen, who are ranked No. 4
in the East Region, improved to 4-1 overall, while the Spartans are
2-12 overall.
SNHU took down two of the three doubles matches and the top
three singles matches on the docket. Amber
Chandronnait (Bow, N.H.) and Alena
Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) teamed up for a 8-0 win at
No. 1 doubles, while Catalina Echeverry (Cali,
Colombia) and Alison Waring (Westboro, Mass.) were
8-3 winners at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Chandronnait was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 1,
while Mukdaprakorn was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 2. Echeverry
posted a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Sunday when it travels
to Adelphi University for a Northeast-10 match.
