MANCHESTER, N.H.
– The Southern New Hampshire University
women's tennis team defeated the University of New Haven 9-0
on Sunday afternoon. With the victory, the Penmen improve to
13-1 overall and 10-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play, winning
their 12th straight match. The Chargers fall to
3-9 overall and 2-8 in the conference.
With the win, the Penmen also set a
single-season school record for wins, eclipsing the 12 victories
SNHU posted last season.
Amber Chandronnait
(Bow, N.H.) and Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford,
Conn.) shut out the tandem of Lauren Lyons and Noelle Polhemus in
No. 1 doubles play by a final score of 8-0. In addition to
winning her doubles match alongside partner Allison
Waring (Westboro, Mass.), Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) blanked her No. 3 singles
opponent 6-0, 6-0.
The Penmen return to action Tuesday
afternoon as they take on Bentley University in a 4:00 p.m. contest
at home.
