MANCHESTER, N.H
– The Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis
team posted a 7-2 win over Bentley University in Northeast-10
action Tuesday afternoon at the SNHU courts. The Penmen, who
have won 13 matches in a row, improved to 14-1 overall and 11-0 in
the NE-10, while the Falcons are now 8-8 and 7-4 in the league.
Tuesday's win means SNHU only
needs one win in its final two regular season matches to clinch a
share of the Northeast-10 regular season title, which would be the
first in program history. The Penmen face Merrimack in a
match to be played at the University of New Hampshire Friday, then
close out the regular season with a contest against Franklin Pierce
at home Saturday.
Amber Chandronnait
(Bow, N.H.) and Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford,
Conn.) remained unbeaten in conference play at No. 1 doubles with
an 8-0 win, while Chandronnait remained unbeaten at No. 1 singles
with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Mukdaprakorn, Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia), Samantha Jean
(Bedford, N.H.) and Kara Pease (Falmouth, Mass.)
also won their singles matches, with Echeverry also remaining
unbeaten in conference play.
