BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – A goal by Ivana Babic
at 98:47 of the first overtime period lifted the C.W. Post women's
soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire University
Wednesday afternoon. With the defeat, the Penmen slide to 4-4 while
maintaining a 3-3 record within Northeast-10 Conference play.
The Pioneers improve to 5-1-2 on the season.
With a minute and 13 seconds remaining in the first overtime
period, Ivana Babic scored her team-leading seventh goal of the
season. At the top of the box, Alexa Niciforo maintained possession
and sent a feed across the box to Babic, who roofed the ball into
the top left corner of the net to give the Pioneers the 1-0
victory.

Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) drew the loss for the
Penmen, making eight saves in a complete-game effort. Allie Weiser
made four saves for the Pioneers, who outshot the Penmen 10 to
7.
The Penmen return to action this Saturday as they take on
conference-rival Merrimack at 4:00 p.m. on Larkin Field.
