MANCHESTER, N.H. – Buoyed by straight-set sweeps in the top four singles matches and the top two doubles matches, No. 36 Southern New Hampshire University blanked Saint Anselm College 9-0 in Northeast-10 women's tennis Sunday afternoon at the SNHU courts. The Penmen, who have now won 22 straight NE-10 regular season matches, are now 6-2 and 5-0 in the NE-10, while the Hawks are 1-3 overall and in the league.
In singles play, the Penmen dropped a total of two games. SNHU's top four singles players, No. 18 Amber Chandronnait (Bow, N.H.), Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.), Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) and Samantha Jean (Bedford, N.H.) were all 6-0, 6-0 winners. In doubles play, Chandronnait and Mukdaprakorn were 8-0 winners at No. 1, while Echeverry and Kirsten Jean (Bedford, N.H.) were 8-0 winners at No. 2.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Stonehill College for a rematch of last season's Northeast-10 championship match.
