MANCHESTER, N.H. – No. 29 Southern New Hampshire University capped their second straight undefeated Northeast-10 regular season season with a 9-0 win over Franklin Pierce University in women's tennis Saturday afternoon. The Penmen, who captured their second straight outright Northeast-10 regular season title, are now 14-2 and 13-0 in the NE-10, while the Ravens see their season come to a close at 1-12 overall and in the league.
The Penmen, who have now won 30 straight NE-10 regular season matches and 34 in a row against conference opponents including the postseason, open defense of their 2009-10 Northeast-10 tournament title on Monday, hosting a quarterfinal round match at 2:00 pm. The opponent for that match is still to be determined.
Southern New Hampshire did not drop a game in three doubles matches and dropped just seven games in six singles victories.
